Matusadona National Park, Zimbabwe
Recommended Camps
This beautiful Park is situated on the shores of Lake Kariba, the
third largest man made lake in the world covering an area of over
5000 square kilometers. Ghostly dead trees drowned during the rising
of the Lake in the early 60s act as roosting places for numerous
pairs of fish eagles, cormorants and darters. The backdrop to this
Park are the folded mauve Matusadona Mountains rising two thousand
feet above the lake. This Park is one of the remaining refuges to
the endangered black rhino.
Matusadona Water Wilderness
A romantic floating lodge where all the suites are moored individually
in attractive creeks of a secluded bay of Matusadona National Park.
Only five rooms ensure a perosnalised and exclusive atmosphere.

Guests commute between the 'mother ship' either by canoe or motorised
pontoon to their floating rooms. Elephant can often be seen feeding
within meters of the rooms tethered to statuesque dead trees. Safari
activities from here are on foot into the Park to track rhino and
lion, by canoe or boat to view animals drinking and feeding along
the shoreline which is also home to numerous shoreline birds.
