3 Day Lodge to Lodge,
Zambezi River, Zambia
Day 1
Arrive Royal Zambezi Lodge on the banks of the Lower Zambezi River.
You will be welcomed by the management and your guides. Once you are
settled into your tent you will meet your guides for canoeing orientation
and afternoon activities from Royal Zambezi – including game
drive in open 4 X 4’s, tiger fishing, guided walking or simply
relaxing. Sundowners and dinner at Royal Zambezi and overnight at
Royal Zambezi.
Day 2
After an early breakfast you will paddle downstream under the watchful eye of
your experienced river guide. Refreshments are served en-route and you will be
able to stop and observe anything of interest during the trip. At mid-day a buffet
picnic lunch will be served on a shady river bank. A selection of cold cuts,
salads, fresh fruit, cheese board, home-made bread and rolls, and refreshing
drinks is provided.
Following a short lunch rest you continue down the main stream, or
through the delightful Chifungulu Channels to Mwambashi Camp arriving
late afternoon to be welcomed by your hosts at this beautifully located
camp. Sundowners, dinner and overnight at Mwambashi.
Day 3
After breakfast you will board your canoes and drift downstream to the mouth
of the Discovery Channels. You have the option of exploring the channel or drifting
down the main river. A buffet lunch is served at Chakwenga mouth where you may
relax and before a late afternoon evening game drive back to Mwambashi.
During your canoe trip you will see abundant wildlife including elephant, hippo,
crocodile, buffalo, waterbuck, impala and for the birders an absolute paradise!
Lion and leopard are occasionally sighted from canoes.
